*Transfers, the good, the bad and the ugly... uhhhh make that the pretty.
The March meeting of the Central Mississippi Polymer Clay Guild will meet Saturday, March 20, 2010 at the Pearl Library beginning at 10:00 a.m. and running until 3:30 p.m. Our focus for this meeting with be using transfers in our polymer clay designs.
If you’ve done any research on this, you realize rather quickly that there are quite a few different ways to transfer a printed design or picture to polymer clay. Transfers are not a cut and dried, one size fits all technique and Joyce will walk us through several of these techniques while making it fun rather than confusing! Joyce will supply the copies for the meeting and we’ll talk about the different kinds of paper and what works best with which copies/printers. Many are toner based (laser) transfers but Joyce is also researching methods that work with inkjet printers, which is what most of us have at home. We’ll transfer on white clay and on black! We’ll be covering a lot of territory and will do as much hands-on as possible so come with conditioned clay (see below) and an open mind!
Joyce is still working on the supply list so be sure to check the email I’ll be sending out the week of the meeting to see if anything more has been added. You might want to bring change for the zerox machine should you want to make extra copies of any transfers with a toner based copier. The library has one!
Clay (preferably Premo -- conditioned)
