The January meeting of the Central
Mississippi Polymer Clay Guild will be on Saturday, January 17, 2015, at 10:00
a.m. at the Pearl Library, Pearl, Mississippi. Before the meeting be thinking about what you
want to do, learn, etc. over the next year.
It is so nice when we have everything planned ahead of time. Of course, we can still be flexible if
something comes up that we want to work on.
We also need to bring things to
refresh our “window” in the library.
I’m going to kick the year off with
something we’ve done before but not for a very long time. Ghost Canes.
Ghost canes are great finishing elements in a millefiori design because
they cure almost clear so what is under the cane shows through. We will be making several variations of ghost
canes including a simple jelly roll (which I use in just about every millefiori
veneer that I make), window panes, lace cane, flower cane and if we have time,
a butterfly wing. Sounds like a lot but
all are simple. And there will be no
color mixing, very little conditioning… easy, peasy!
