May 2017 Meeting Notes

The May meeting of the Central Mississippi Polymer Clay Guild will be on Saturday, May 20th, at 10:00 a.m. at the Pearl Library, Pearl, Mississippi.  Summer is just around the corner; Red Roses are budding, White Gardenias are in bloom/ smelling wonderful and Blue Violets are yet to come.  Debbie is going to take the lead and kick off Summer with a demo of an America Flag cane.   There should be some time left and Joyce is going to guide us through creating an Art Journal.  

This is the time to let loose and use your favorite claying techniques.  Joyce is going to play color recipes for her journal.  You could use your old canes and make a collage of your “Clay Journey”, the sky is the limit.  

Flag Supplies:
Bring one package each of your favorite shades of Red, White and Blue clay. 
Extruder with a Star disc
Or a small Star cutter

Journal Supplies:
Joyce will bring
4-Canvases (5 ½ by 8 ½) for your art work, covers, paper and coils to construct the Art Journals.
Machine to close up the coils

Supplies to bring:
A tile to accommodate an 8 ½ by 5 ½ piece of clay.
Deli paper to prevent shiny spots on your clay – Optional
Enough Clay to cover at least one 8 ½ x 5 ½ canvas and up to 4 canvases
Your favorite clay tools, i.e, ball stylus, blending tool, cutters, mica powers, brushes, etc


Bring your regular clay tools, pasta machine, roller, cutters, deli sheets, baby wipes, etc
