The July meeting of the Central
Mississippi Polymer Clay Guild will be on Saturday, July 21st at 10:00
a.m. at the Pearl Library, Pearl, Mississippi. Joyce will be showing
us how to use a transfer to make a veneer for a bracelet the easy way. We will
be using Souffle clay for this technique. Transfers will be made
available for you. To make a more interesting bracelet you might want 2
or 3 colors that will make a pretty skinner blend. We will be stepping thru the
process of how to make a very simple bracelet. A picture of a sample transfer is attached.
2 bars of Souffle* clay in
complimentary colors for a blend
1 bar of White Souffle* clay
GermX Advanced clear, not the green
one
Old credit card
Metal Bracelet blank that is already
formed
NOTE: You must use Souffle clay for this technique to
work.
In Addition: Bring your normal working supplies -
pasta machine, roller, work surface and stiff blade
There is a lot to go over for this
meeting. Please make the effort to condition at least the black and white clay
before the meeting. That will allow us to start on time and you will have time
to condition other clays as you get caught up. The more you condition the more
we can accomplish on Saturday.
Reminders: The weather is getting HOT- you may want a cooler with an ice
pack to transport your clay.
The library has no control on the
temperature in the room. We recommend layers of clothing
The
Display Case can use new items
each month. At the June meeting Arlene challenged members to bring
something made from the fish cane we made during last month's meeting.
These would be a great addition to the Display Case but feel free to
bring anything you want to share for a while.
